At age 15, Levi Ware picked up a guitar for the very first time. Little did he know the incredible and awe-inspiring journey that lay ahead of him…

Instilled with an adeptly strong love for music, Levi has established himself as an
accomplished singer-songwriter with a style all his own.

Levi’s first music endeavor “A Bird of Passage” gained notoriety both locally and nationally earning opening slots for recognized artists such as Heart, The Posies and The Spin Doctors; as well as becoming well established within NACA (National Association of Campus Activities) touring much of the West Coast and Mid-Western U.S.

After releasing two well-received albums, “Passage” learned a 70’s jazz band had already used their name thus were influenced to change their name to “Vast Capital (V.C). Embracing their new name, and with the help of their manager and friend Evan Blackstone, engineer Neal Cappelino (Alison Kraus, Mindy Smith, Nickel Creek) and producer Jon Blackstone, Vast Capital set out to rediscover themselves in creating the subtly smooth and tunefully clever new album “What More Else”.

Released in 2004, the album soon received nation-wide recognition and radio airplay. Surrounded by established artists such as Ben Harper, Muse and Blues Traveler, the title
track of the album, "What More Else" spent several weeks in the top 50 and 18 weeks in the top 200. VC also experienced local unprecedented success in their hometown of Seattle by establishing themselves in some of it’s top venues such as the Tractor, The High Dive, the Crocodile Cafe, the Moore Theatre and the Showbox. Opening for Mike Doughty (Soul Coughing) Quasi Nada, Cee-lo, and among others also performed a benefit (CCFA) with Eddie Vedder and other members of Pearl Jam. While short lived, Vast Capital did garner respectable success during their run, but the band decided to take an extended break,  leaving Levi to ponder his next move.

After the demise of the band, Levi was blessed with the opportunity to go to Africa. “It was an amazing experience to say the least and one that I will never forget. With open arms, Uganda embraced me and I found myself immersed in the culture and its people. In my time there, I found it not only humbling but incredibly inspiring that despite all their sadness and hurt, the eyes of those I met in Uganda were still filled with such hope and their spirits (though bruised) remained strong.  In Uganda so many lives have come to a brutal and heart-wrenching end but for the children there is a new story being written. With themes of hope and possibility, organizations such as Invisible Children and Krochet Kids are empowering Ugandans as well as you and I to add our own pages of love and support to Uganda’s
developing story. And this is my purpose. Since returning from Africa, I’ve realized it’s not easy to get involved in a country that’s thousands of miles away, but I’ve also realized I’ve been given a gift that makes it possible for anyone to be instrumental in the positive change taking place in Uganda”.

With inspiration and a cause, Levi created a clothing line which dedicates 100% of profits to aid the people of Uganda—it’s orphans and widows. “I know I will go back to Africa some day and hopefully many times after that, but to see such a place, such beautiful people in such pain does not sit well with my heart, especially knowing that I can’t get back as soon as I’d like. So I’ve decided, if I can’t get back, the least I can do is give back—to a people and a culture that has given so much to me”.

In 2005 Levi decided to move forward with his music endeavors, leading to a solo career that spawned the release of his first solo album 2006’s “Level Yourself”. Bringing a renewed sense of energy and love for music, this release kept him busy spending the summers of ’06 and ‘07 touring Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Ireland and Sweden (top selling artist in Sweden’s Frizon ’07 Music Festival).

Nearing completion of his next record, “Listen Mr,” set to release in June 2009, again with the help of Neal Cappellino and Jon Blackstone, Levi continues the musically inspiring journey of mind, heart and soul he began just 16 years ago when he picked up a guitar for the very first time.
